Banana Keyboard Privacy Policy
Effective date:
This Privacy Policy describes how Banana Keyboard handles information in the first free beta release.
Banana Keyboard is a prompt-only Android keyboard for AI apps. It lets you select an image-generation prompt and insert that selected prompt into the focused input field.
What the keyboard does
For reliability and UX review, the app records a fixed set of milestones locally, such as app opened, keyboard setup detected, and first insertion completed. They contain no prompt body, typed text, destination-app content, password, account identifier, or device identifier.
- Shows the bundled or locally cached catalog.
- Inserts only the prompt you explicitly select into the focused field.
- Stores recent and favorite prompt IDs on your device.
- Allows unlimited insertion during the free beta.
- Blocks insertion in password fields.
What the keyboard does not do
- Does not read arbitrary text you type in another app.
- Does not read text around the cursor or selected text.
- Does not store destination-app input or passwords.
- Does not press send, submit, or generate.
- Does not upload prompt usage history or local activation milestones.
- Does not sync recents or favorites.
Data stored on your device
Recent and favorite entries are BananaNL catalog IDs, not copies of text entered in another app.
- Recent and favorite prompt IDs.
- Catalog files and thumbnails.
- Onboarding completion and fixed activation milestones.
Optional Library feature
Library is a web-based optional feature. Signing in by email link on the web lets you save, manage, and publish your own prompts. The currently released Android app does not sync with Web Library. Android keyboard Library sync is in preparation. The IME itself does not sign in, publish, or share.
- Email address for authentication and account management.
- A public name when you publish.
- Prompt title, body, use case, language, visibility, optional source URL, and emoji or photo cover.
- Revision, update time, and sync state.
- When another user saves a public prompt, they receive an independent private copy.
- Likes you give to public prompts. Which prompt and when is stored against your account, and a like cannot be undone.
- The reason and time when you report a public prompt. We identify the reporter only to act on the report; the author is not told who reported.
Network use
The catalog and thumbnails refresh in the background. Bundled or cached content remains available when the network is unavailable.
Catalog refresh does not upload destination-app input, passwords, recents, favorites, or local milestones.
Web Library sends and receives saved prompts and account data over HTTPS.
Password fields
Insertion is blocked when the focused field is a password-style field. The keyboard does not read or store its contents.
Clearing local data
You can clear local app data in Android system settings:
- Open Android Settings.
- Open Apps.
- Select Banana Keyboard.
- Open Storage.
- Clear storage or app data.
Children and policy changes

We update this policy before releasing a change that affects how information is handled.
